Good For All Conference Event by Catherine Clark ( October 7, 2021 ) The world needs people who build authentic relationships, not only with people we share a lot in common with but with everyone God brings into our lives—our neighbors, coworkers, and cities. The world needs people who do good for their communities right alongside others in their communities. The world needs people who live as light, spreading […]
How to Address Christian Hypocrisy Blog by Kenneth Samples ( May 7, 2019 ) Hypocrisy among Christians is a serious issue. At minimum, it’s a huge turnoff for believers and unbelievers alike. In situations where people are actually victimized by it, hypocrisy can comprise a justifiable reason to rethink or reject the truth of Christianity. In either case, hypocrisy among those who claim to follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is always regrettable. Philosophy & Ethics
Testing, Anyone? Blog by Joe Aguirre ( May 6, 2008 ) This sentiment is representative of the many who are critical of anyone positing an intelligent designer. We’ve broached the subject repeatedly in this space, so it’s nothing new, but when theistic explanations for natural phenomena come in the form of testing, a similar complaint arises.
Magnetic-Field History Supports Old Earth Publication by Hugh Ross ( July 14, 2006 ) A better understanding of the history of Earth’s magnetic field undermines one major argument young-earth creationists (YECs) use to establish a few-thousand-year-old Earth. Contemporary measurements of Earth’s magnetic-field strength show that it has decreased about 5% per century over the last 150 years. Assuming this decline reflects the field behavior over all time (and a reasonable maximum possible magnetic field), most YECs reason that Earth cannot be older than a few tens of thousands of years. However, a team of geophysicists recently analyzed paleomagnetic data and demonstrated that from 1590 to 1840 the magnetic-field strength was nearly constant. Since the contemporary field decline does not characterize past magnetic-field behavior, arguing for a young Earth based on the magnetic field is no longer valid. Creation Model

Tetrapod Transitions: Evidence for Design Publication by Fazale “Fuz” Rana ( December 31, 2009 ) The ubiquitous bumper sticker featuring a fish sprouting legs has symbolized a sometimes rancorous contemporary debate: Does evolution or creation better explain life’s history? Recent fossil finds have put literal and figurative legs on the controversy by challenging Charles Darwin’s paradigm-shifting theory. Evolution
Why Does the Bible Say Heaven Is Above and Hell Below? Publication by Hugh Ross ( January 25, 2023 ) Question of the Week: Why does the Bible speak of heaven as being “above” and hell being “below”? My Answer: Heaven and hell are not above and below from our human perspective. Heaven is not located above Earth’s clouds and hell is not located in Earth’s mantle or core. Note that the Bible declares that both […] Bible
Engaging in Christ-Centered Conversation Blog by Kenneth Samples ( March 10, 2014 ) Last week, my colleague Krista Bontrager shared her insights into Son of God and the TV mini-series from which the film was derived. Whether or not you choose to see Son of God in theatres (or any of the other faith-based films coming out this year), movies like this can provide a window of opportunity to discuss Christ with others. Great Minds Think Alike, but Evolution Doesn’t Publication by Fazale “Fuz” Rana ( July 16, 2009 ) Inability to Generate Repeated Evolutionary Outcomes in the Lab Undermines Evolutionary Paradigm Evolution
Meteorites Reveal Design in Solar System Formation Publication by Hugh Ross ( June 20, 2006 ) New understanding of the formation and movement of iron meteorites reveals fine-tuning in the early solar system. The iron meteorites currently populate the main asteroid belt (between Mars and Jupiter), but astronomers have great difficulty finding suitable locations in that region of the solar system where the meteorites could form. In the early solar system, there were not enough radioactive materials to cause the required melting. Instead, recent research indicates the meteorites were formed closer to the sun and subsequently scattered out to the asteroid belt. However, such movement of solar system bodies during the early solar system necessitates greater fine-tuning to prevent catastrophic disruptions to Earth’s capacity to support life. Such fine-tuning is expected by RTB’s biblical creation model. Astronomy
