The Importance of Plate Tectonics Blog by Jeff Zweerink ( October 21, 2016 ) Just one year after moving to Southern California, I experienced a dramatically different display of nature’s power. Early in the morning on October 16, 1999, the magnitude 7.1 Hector Mine earthquake struck. It is quite an experience to walk into your kids’ bedroom while your house moves up and down like a boat on the ocean! Design

Did God Create Using Evolutionary Processes? Publication by Fazale “Fuz” Rana ( April 23, 2012 ) American botanist Asa Gray was one of the first scientists in the United States to adopt and promote Darwin’s theory of biological evolution. Gray was also an orthodox Christian, who saw no conflict between a history of life on Earth that was the outworking of evolutionary processes and the Christian faith. Gray was perhaps one of the first people to espouse the view that has now come to be known as theistic evolution (or evolutionary creationism). Creation Views

Long-Term Evolution Experiment: Evidence for the Evolutionary Paradigm? Part 2 (of 2) Publication by Fazale “Fuz” Rana ( November 19, 2009 ) When Samuel Johnson said, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions,” he was paraphrasing St. Bernard of Claurivax (1091-1153) who said, “Hell is full of good intentions or desires.” And it is with good intentions that some Christians object to the evolutionary paradigm because they assert that they can’t see evolution happening today. Evolution

Water on Kuiper Belt Bodies No Help to Life Scenarios Publication by Hugh Ross ( April 29, 2009 ) Studies of Kuiper Belt Objects (KBOs) affirm the design of the solar system—and Earth in particular. The Kuiper Belt is a group of small cometary and asteroidal bodies just beyond Neptune that orbit the sun. A team of Caltech scientists confirmed the existence of ice on the largest satellite of one KBO. The ice signature strongly implies that the satellite resulted from a giant impact, similar to the process responsible for Earth’s moon. While this KBO and satellite show similarities to the Earth-moon system—abundant water and an impact formation event—the differences reveal the design of the earth and moon. Earth remains the only known astronomical body with a long-standing liquid water cycle and a large moon serving to stabilize the earth’s rotation. Both of these essential characteristics affirm the view that a supernatural Designer has prepared a fit habitat for life. Geology & Earth
