Robert Varga holds an MS and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Florida. His 40+ years in high technology include research at Bell Laboratories and leadership roles in a variety of business startups and turnarounds in public and private companies. He now serves on the Executive Advisory Board for the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering at the University of San Diego, and its Industry Scholars Program that provides mentorship for engineering students. He also tutors high school math and manages a San Diego franchise of a national tutoring organization.

President, CEO, and senior scholar at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he formerly served as a senior scientist in research and development at Procter & Gamble. Rana earned a BS in chemistry with highest honors from West Virginia State College (now University) and a PhD in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Ohio University.
