Gailen Marshall holds the R. Faser Triplett Sr. MD Chair of Allergy and Immunology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He earned both an MD and PhD in immunology from the University of Texas Medical Branch and focuses his research on the connection between the mind and immune health. He lives in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and enjoys astrophotography, ham radio, and fly fishing.

President, CEO, and senior scholar at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he formerly served as a senior scientist in research and development at Procter & Gamble. Rana earned a BS in chemistry with highest honors from West Virginia State College (now University) and a PhD in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Ohio University.
