Mark Olesen is a retired federal physician with 41 years of combined experience in the VA healthcare system and the United States Navy. After earning his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin, he began a career of 29 years of active-duty service. He also earned an MPH from the Uniformed Services University and an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School.

President, CEO, and senior scholar at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he formerly served as a senior scientist in research and development at Procter & Gamble. Rana earned a BS in chemistry with highest honors from West Virginia State College (now University) and a PhD in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Ohio University.
