Mike Sabom is a retired cardiologist who writes and lectures widely on near-death experiences (NDEs). He earned an MD with honors from the University of Texas at Galveston, and board certification in internal medicine and cardiology from the University of Florida. He examines NDEs in Recollections of Death: A Medical Investigation and Light & Death. A third book is underway.

President, CEO, and senior scholar at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he formerly served as a senior scientist in research and development at Procter & Gamble. Rana earned a BS in chemistry with highest honors from West Virginia State College (now University) and a PhD in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Ohio University.
