Tim Smith earned a BA in biology at Pacific Lutheran University and a PhD in biomathematics at the University of Washington. He has worked primarily for fishery laboratories within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, specializing in the assessment and history of various marine fisheries globally, especially commercial whaling. He currently teaches at Bethel Church’s School of Supernatural Ministry and works in Bethel’s Long-Term Missions Department, where he focuses on missionary finances and debriefing missionaries returning from the field.
