He received an MDiv from Fuller Seminary, a ThM in systematic theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a ThM and PhD in church history from Lutheran School of Theology. He taught at overseas colleges for seven years and was a teaching assistant for Robert Fogel, a Nobel laureate at the University of Chicago. He bolstered the case for old-earth creationism from the lens of theological and biblical scholarship in the Journal of Biblical and Theological Studies. John pastors a church in North Carolina.
