Arlen D. Nordhagen is a cofounder of National Storage Affiliates (NSA) and currently serves as vice chair of the board of trustees. He served as executive chairman of NSA from 2020 to 2023, chairman from 2015 to 2020, chief executive officer from inception in 2013 to 2020, and president and chief executive officer of SecurCare from 1999 to 2013.
Arlen has over 30 years of experience in the self-storage industry, beginning in 1988 when he cofounded NSA’s predecessor, SecurCare Self Storage. Arlen was also a founder of MMM Healthcare, Inc., the largest provider of Medicare Advantage health insurance in Puerto Rico.
Arlen earned an MBA and graduated with high distinction from Harvard University and graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota with a BS in chemical engineering.
