Our Philosophical Options According to Albert Camus Blog by Kenneth Samples ( June 10, 2014 ) Some of the stories from classical Greek philosophy and mythology leave me with a lingering sense of philosophical angst. In an earlier article, I wrote about how Plato’s allegory of the cave always makes me self-conscious of whether I have adequately tested my beliefs and overall world-and-life view. It’s difficult to shake the image of sitting in a dark cave while looking at shadows on the wall. But, then, maybe everyone should be so bothered concerning the truthfulness of their deepest beliefs. Cosmic Creation Model and the First Stars Publication by Hugh Ross ( March 10, 2008 ) In attempting to achieve a comprehensive validation of the biblically predicted big bang creation model1the greatest challenge for astronomers has been assembling a detailed history for the formation of the universe’s first stars. One problem is that such stars are extremely difficult to observe. A second problem is that theoretical models for explaining the physics of star formation during the universe’s early history are notoriously difficult to formulate. However, thanks to the most ambitious simulation of star formation to date, assuming zero and very low metal abundance conditions (elements heavier than helium are required for stars to form), the biggest remaining gap in validating the big bang creation model is now being filled. Does a Religion’s Rapid Growth Mean It’s True? Blog by Kenneth Samples ( July 7, 2020 ) Many religions claim high growth rates that are not merely due to population increases. If a religion acquires a large number of followers, does that growth count in favor of its truth claims? Christianity experienced rapid growth in its early period but so have many religions, including Islam and Mormonism. Is Christianity unique, and if so, how? Worldviews
