Focus on the Family Interview
Dr. Hugh Ross’s appearance sparked an unexpected wave of interest and RTB’s first mailing list.
At RTB, we believe scientific discovery and Scripture tell the same story. Through Christian apologetics, we show how STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine) and the Bible together reveal God as our creator.

Reasons to Believe, founded by Hugh Ross, is a community of scientists, scholars, and everyday apologists united by a passion to equip Christians to resolve doubts, grow in confidence, and share the gospel.
We exist to open people to the gospel by revealing God in science.
Our vision is for people of all nations to see God’s attributes in creation and come to love him.
Our work is built on a firm foundation. Here are the core theological commitments that shape everything at Reasons to Believe.
The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word—historically, scientifically, morally, and spiritually without error. It is our supreme and final authority in all matters it addresses, perfectly consistent with what he reveals in creation.
The universe is God’s visible creation, declaring his existence, power, and glory. Nature and Scripture are two revelations from the same God. When understood correctly, they never contradict each other.
We believe in one infinitely perfect, eternal God existing as three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coequal in power, nature, and glory, and sharing equally the one divine nature.
Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man. His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, burial, and bodily resurrection are the cornerstone of our faith. He now reigns at the right hand of the Father and will return in glory.
Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, conquering sin, death, and Satan. His empty tomb and resurrection appearances are historically verified events—the ultimate vindication of who he is and why it matters.
Redemption is solely a work of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone, never by human merit. Christ bore the full penalty for sin, satisfying God’s justice and reconciling us to him.
God created human beings uniquely in his image—distinct in kind from all other life, possessing inherent dignity and moral worth—both male (man) and female (woman). Though fallen through sin, we are redeemed and restored through faith in Christ.
Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. We are called to go into all the world—using reason, science, and Scripture to proclaim the gospel, baptize, make disciples, and engage every person with gentleness and respect.
RTB doesn’t just write and research, we show up where the conversations are happening. From documentaries and museums to podcasts and major publications, here’s a glimpse of where you may have encountered our work.
We uphold Scripture as fully true and engage mainstream science with rigor and respect. We see both as complementary sources that together reveal God and strengthen faith.
We welcome your tough questions and doubts as we engage in thoughtful, careful analysis of scientific facts alongside the inerrant truths of the Bible.
Our approach in everything we do is to maintain humility and speak with gentleness and respect, embodying the spirit of 1 Peter 3:15–16.
As scientific discovery affirms the God of the Bible, we pursue knowledge to disciple people in their faith in Christ and to equip them to share the gospel.
From college students wrestling with doubt to credentialed scientists seeking answers, RTB has helped people around the world discover that faith and science point to the same God.
