The Optimized Structure of DNA Provides Evidence for Intelligent Design
It’s that time of the year when everyone starts thinking about having “fun in the Sun.” Unfortunately, I am not one of them. Instead I am stuck inside laboring as hard as I can to finish the manuscript for a new book. (The working title: Life in the Lab).
Because I’m behind schedule, I didn’t have much time this week to write an article for our Today’s New Reason to Believe Web feature. Instead I am going to suggest that you re-read (or read for the first time) an article I wrote several months ago on how the structure of DNA is optimized for photostability. In other words, DNA has a “sunscreen” built into its structure. This sunscreen property allows for humans–in fact, all life–to enjoy time in the Sun by making DNA resistant to the Sun’s more harmful effects. And, in my opinion, this feature adds to the evidence that life stems from the work of a Creator.
So enjoy the start to your summer and the article, “DNA Soaks Up Sun’s Rays”.
