Biography

Tim Williams holds a BS in Physics (Oregon State University) and an MS in Electrical Engineering (University of Washington). He has been designing integrated circuits for over 35 years, most of that time with Cypress Semiconductor (now Infineon). His designs have included microchips for early USB devices, then for detecting finger position on a phone touchscreen, and now for micro-controllers used in a variety of gadgets—with over two billion of these chips produced. He and his wife JoAnn live in the Seattle area. They have four children and two grandchildren. Tim enjoys travel, writing, creating photo-based art, and has been an everyday runner for several years.
