Biography
Tim Williams holds a BS in physics (Oregon State University) and an MS in electrical engineering (University of Washington). He has been designing integrated circuits for over 35 years, most of that time with Cypress Semiconductor (now Infineon). His designs have included microchips for early USB devices, then for detecting finger position on a phone touchscreen, and now for microcontrollers used in a variety of gadgets—with over two billion of these chips produced. He and his wife, JoAnn, live in the Seattle area. They have four children and three grandchildren. Tim enjoys travel, writing, and creating photo–based art and has been an everyday runner for several years.
