Mark Olesen is a retired federal physician with 41 years of combined experience in the VA healthcare system and the United States Navy. After earning his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin, he began a career of 29 years of active-duty service. He also earned an MPH from the Uniformed Services University and an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School. Since his retirement, he has furthered his Christian education through online studies at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, Colorado, and the School of Divinity at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he is close to completing his master of arts in Christian apologetics and cosmogony.

Mark lives with his wife Paula in rural Hertford, North Carolina. They enjoy the natural beauty of the area and visiting their two grown children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
