Subduction Design Publication by Hugh Ross ( November 3, 2008 ) Stanford University geophysicist Norman Sleep has outlined some new constraints on habitable planets.1 He explains how the possible existence of advanced life crucially depends upon a planet maintaining efficient plate tectonics for billions of years. Without such plate tectonics several nutrient-recycling processes, critical for advanced life, cannot be sustained. Efficient plate tectonics are also essential for transforming a planet’s surface into a mix of oceans and continents. Geology & Earth
Neanderthal Gene Deserts Provide Oasis for RTB’s Creation Model Blog by Fazale “Fuz” Rana ( November 29, 2023 ) My two-year-old grandson’s favorite book is Yummy Yucky by Leslie Patricelli. This work helps little ones learn which things they should put in their mouths (yummy things) and which things they shouldn’t (yucky things). Spoiler alert! Blueberries are yummy; blue crayons are yucky Spaghetti is yummy; worms are yucky Burgers are yummy; boogers are yucky For […] Human Origins & Anthropology
More-Precise Dates Provide More-Detailed Picture Publication by Hugh Ross ( January 4, 2007 ) Recent advances in dating technology have given earth scientists a much-more-detailed picture of Earth’s history—one that can be used to confirm the details of RTB’s cosmic creation model. Scientists continue to develop techniques to date events that occurred hundreds of million years ago within a precision of a hundred thousand years—a remarkable achievement; current precision yields dates with error bars as large as a few million years. The resulting detailed timeline will prove a powerful tool in testing the validity of RTB’s cosmic creation model, which works to correlate the creation events from Scripture with the cosmic and geological record. Using Secular Textbooks Multimedia by Krista Bontrager ( September 25, 2017 ) RTB’s Dean of Online Learning, Krista Bontrager, talks about some basic principles for using secular science textbooks.
Extrasolar Comet Cloud Publication by Hugh Ross ( April 17, 2005 ) New measurements by astronomers provide yet another refutation of a recent prediction made by young-earth creationists that large distant reservoirs of comets do not orbit about the Sun or about any other neighboring star. In addition to recently finding evidence for such reservoirs orbiting about the Sun (the Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud) a team of European and American astronomers now has confirmed that the distribution of dust and debris orbiting about the star, epsilon Eridani, matches the profile one would expect to be generated by a vast number of comet collisions. The team determined that the mass of colliding comets is between five and nine Earth masses and that the comets reside between about 3 and 10 billion miles from its star. This discovery that epsilon Eridani also possesses a large reservoir of distant comets confirms an important prediction of the old-earth creationist model while refuting the corresponding young-earth creationist prediction. The Many Faces of Courage Blog by Kenneth Samples ( November 2, 2015 ) I have heard it said that the only thing warriors fear more than death is cowardice. I have been thinking about the meaning of courage for a long time. When I was a boy I wondered how my ordinary father was able to do extraordinary things as an American combat soldier in World War II and receive the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals. When I asked my father if he was afraid during battle he said yes—but he also said that he deemed there were more important things at stake than his personal safety and he was determined to do his job as a soldier. Thus courage can be defined as the mental or moral willingness to face or withstand danger, difficulty, or trial. Theology

Curiouser and Curiouser Blog by Guest Writer ( March 5, 2010 ) Director Tim Burton’s work has been described as intensely original, and his latest film—an epic 3D fantasy adventure—certainly meets that description. And, as scientific evidence indicates, so, too, does our galaxy.
Science Affirms Genesis 6:3 and Human Life Span Limit Blog by Hugh Ross ( November 26, 2018 ) Just a year ago, I had a regular attendee in my Paradoxes Sunday school class1 who was 101 years old. He was mentally sharp and, for his age, physically fit. He lived alone and drove himself to class. He claimed that the secret to his longevity was a disciplined diet and daily physical and mental exercise. However, a few months ago, he caught a flu bug that within a week took his life. Bible
Q&A: Is Historical Science Supported by Direct Observation? Publication by Hugh Ross ( October 9, 2014 ) Young-earth creationists define “operational science” as experiments and observations of natural phenomena that are performed in real time—that is, in the present. They consider the outcomes from operational science as trustworthy and reliable. Philosophy & Ethics
