Reasons To Believe Canada Association was started in 1996 by a group of evangelical Christians who had a desire to further the work of Reasons To Believe in Canada and make it easier for Canadians to access RTB materials. RTB Canada is fully incorporated under the Society Act and has a board of Directors that meets annually. We have the head office in Ladysmith BC for all of Canada and one of the responsibilities of this office is to be responsible for the Canadian Chapters. The Canadian By-Laws are set up this way because Canada is a separate country that abides by Canadian tax laws. RTB Canada has a Canada Customs & Revenue Agency tax number, which enables us to provide Canadians with tax receipts for any donations made to RTB Canada that can then be applied to supporters’ income tax returns.
It is RTB Canada’s desire to provide tools for Canadians to understand how Science and Christianity both point to the God of the Bible as the Creator of the Universe.
The Canadian office is looked after by John & Ruth Duerksen. We can be contacted by telephone, fax, or email. Also, people who are in the Vancouver Island area frequently drop by to browse the new inventory & visit. We carry the full inventory of RTB & ship to all parts of Canada. This is done to make it as convenient as possible for Canadians to obtain RTB materials and at similar prices.
RTB Canada has assisted the supporters in the Vancouver area to get organized as a chapter of RTB in Canada. Interest has been shown from other areas of our country in also getting organized in such places as Montreal, Fredericton NB, Winnipeg, & Kelowna BC.
To carry out our mission we endeavour to:
- make resources available for leading studies and small groups in Canada
- provide support, materials & encouragement to those interested
- assist in arranging special outreach events
- provide RTB materials for outreaches held across the country
